Our Legacy: Built by Members, For Members
The URE FCU was established in 1936 by a handful of Union Railroad Company employees who wanted to create their own trusted financial network for themselves and their fellow railroaders.
Expanding Our Community:
- 1936: Charter of the Union Railroad Employees Federal Credit Union
- 1984: We merged with the Westinghouse Switchgear Employees Federal Credit Union, welcoming their employees into our field of membership.
- 1989: Membership was extended to the Full-Time Employees of Kennywood Park Corporation.
- 1996: We began serving the employees of Reese Brothers Company in Pittsburgh.
- 2000: We updated our charter to offer credit union services to ALL Kennywood Park employees.
We’ve been helping our members and their families build successful lives for generations. We value the patience and loyalty of our members, and by working together, we will continue to help you build a successful financial future.

Who Can Join?
Membership in the URE Federal Credit Union is available to employees, retirees, and their families from our select partner companies, as well as our own staff.

| Employees | Staff of: Union Railroad Company (Pittsburgh, PA), Reese Brothers, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA), and Kennywood Park Corporation (West Mifflin, PA). |
| Retirees | Persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from any of the companies listed above. |
| Family | Immediate family members of any eligible employee or retiree, or existing Credit Union Members. This also includes the spouse of an employee who passed away while eligible for membership. |
| Credit Union Staff | Employees of the URE Federal Credit Union. |
How to Join
To open your account, simply fill out a membership application and make a minimum initial payment of $11.00.
One-Time Membership Fee: $1.00
Initial Deposit: $10.00
We require you to fill out an application in person with a current and valid state ID photo card or Passport
